Arctic Spa School Manual

  • Start-up
Fill spa & bring temperature to at least 90 degrees F before adding any chemicals - (granular chemicals won’t dissolve in colder water).

Note: Municipal drinking water has sufficient sanitizer (chlorine) for the initial fill but will not have enough for any bather load, therefore it is not recommended to use your hot tub unless additional sanitizer is added before use.

There are two methods of adding sanitizer:

  1. Granular Chlorine ( Arctic Pure – Boost):

  • Add 1 to 2 cap-fulls of granular to turbulent water in the spa and allow to dissolve and circulate for approximately 4 to 6 hours – then test with appropriate testing strips.

2. With tablet floating dispenser, fill sanitizer dispenser with tablets Note: use rubber gloves.

ARCTIC PURE SPA TABS, set dispenser between 3 & 5 on the opening scale,

  • Test with test strips and adjust your water within 12-24 hours of your first fill, then once per week or more if you have heavier than normal bather load. With tablets, it will take at least 12 to 24 hours before you will have sufficient sanitizer levels.
